Day One

Seeking His Face:

Holding His Hand:

Imagine the news story in 2010- “Breakthrough Salt-Water Fuel Bankrupts Muslim Nations. With an unlimited supply of salt water fuel America has cut off its dependence on foreign oil. Consumers now pay an average of fifty-seven cents per gallon since the salt water is in such abundance. Global warming’s effect on glaciers now applauded as an abundant resource supplying oceans with enough renewable fuel to power the world in perpetuity.”

Although the above headline is fictitious, imagine being the person who makes that discovery! Not only will the ocean not run dry, but his bank account would be overflowing as well. That person would never lack anything he physically needed.

Imagine as a believer in Jesus Christ, having an unlimited supply of God’s resources at your disposal to meet your every need! Paul said, “My God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” (Phil 3) Again in 2 Corinthians he writes, And God is able to make every grace overflow to you, so that in every way, always having everything you need, you may excel in every good work.” (9:8)

One of the Hebrew names God gave Himself is EL SHADDAI:  God Almighty or "God All Sufficient." It is used 48 times in the OT. 31 times in Job.   His name reveals His nature. Since he is sufficient in himself, He has no need of anything. He already possess in himself everything that he needs. In relation to us, then, He releases TO us the amount of resource that we need for any particular situation. He is the River of Life that is unlimited in its supply so that we can draw from it everything we need!

So What?
You have God’s promise that he will enable you to handle any problem that comes into your life. Not that we are sufficient in ourselves, or consider anything coming from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God.” (2 Cor. 3:5) What financial problem is too big for God? What pain is too deep for God to heal? What enigma is too opaque for God to solve? Father wants to teach you how to overcome your problems with His resources.

You no longer need to be defeated by ANY problem since He has promised He will not allow any difficulty in your life to overwhelm you (1 Cor. 10:13).  No matter what the situation is, His unlimited resources will either give you the strength to go through the trial, or make a way of escape from it.

How do you know if you are being defeated by trials?
  • You feel like you're on an emotional roller coaster.
  • You fall into the same patterns of sin over and over again.
  • There is no joy in your life.
  • You are grouchy.
  • You are always stressed out.
  • You are overwhelmed by life.
  • You use drugs or alcohol or other addiction to cope with life.
Here is good news: “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28) As you walk in Father’s way through your difficulty, He will cause even evil that happens to you to be turned around for your good.

We’ll talk about the how to in later lessons, just know that right now in whatever situation your find yourself…there is an answer and an unlimited supply of resources to meet your need.
